This was our first lens we ever purchased and we loooved it.   It’s a fantastic lens, great bang for your buck and seriously it was the only lens Clara and i used in place of our kit lens when we first got into photography.  It was so much fun!   i was thrilled at how it could shoot in low light with the widest aperture at 1.8 and amazed  at how nicely it throws out the background for great portraits.  We’ve had this for about a year – we’ve since upgraded to a 50mm 1.4 so if anyone wants to purchase this (within the Calgary area!) – $75!   Contact: lee.glenna@gmail.com or claraglee@gmail.com.

Chillin' on the CouchResting up before heading out to Cresent Heights park.   Jo stayed in this position for a bit, being almost close to her due date i realized it’s better not to maneuver her too much!

They don’t know if baby is a boy or girl, but pink/purple elephant doesn’t gender discriminate!

Small Hands Gift BagThanks for hosting us most of last Saturday – it was really a great time of chatting and laughing.  Can’t wait to meet you tiny hands, buttoned nose Baby.  =)

Maternity Session

February 13, 2009

I’m hoping that by the time i have these pictures up Jo and Paul’s baby won’t be walking yet!  I apologize, i’m so slow!  I blame the cold Calgary weather putting me in hibernation mode.  Slowly but surely i’ll be pumping out the maternity photos, but for now here are a few more baby bumpish shots as a preview.

Purple ElephantPurple elephant.  The favorite plush toy thus far!  There’s a whole safari in the nursery.

Bump & ShoesPresenting mommy to be.  She looks fabulous – and baby was ever so active when i put my hand on her belly.  Don’t worry – i asked for permission!  You can practically see the baby shoes jump!  More to come tomorrow.  =)

Baby Bump Maternity Sesssion

February 11, 2009

On a sunny Saturday morning, we took to beautiful Crescent Heights in Calgary for a maternity session of Jo and Paul before she’s due Valentine’s Day.   Clara and I were so excited to photograph Jo in her glowing pregnant glory!    While Jo was getting pampered and prettied up we spent the morning chatting it up with mom and dad to be and oooing and  awwwwwing over their cute accumulation of new-born clothes, toys and shoes.  More to come, here’s a cute sneak preview!

I usually pride myself  in being steady on my feet during winter but after this weekend I realized I’m always at the mercy of Mother Nature – i.e. Calgary’s sheath of impending ice post chinook.  On Saturday in mid-sentence as i was reaching for the car door, my feet (in one swift motion) went from under me.  I took one quick glance at Rockstar before he disappeared before my eyes and I slid helplessly underneath his car.  As i sat there flat on my butt waiting for Rockstar to pull me out, all i could think of was how i could probably live the rest of my life never seeing snow again.  Ever.

Flip FlopsMy much preferred choice in foot wear….

Mai TaiMy much preferred beverage of choice to go with my preferred footwear.   So how many more weeks to go, Mr. Groundhog?
