Stagette Day II
June 23, 2008
As part II of Jenn-fala’s stagette the bridesmaids blind folded her and took her to Canada Olympic Park and surprised her with going ziplining: a 500m long cable from the top of the ski jump with a vertical drop of more than 100m going speeds of up to 140 km/h. After reading that on the website, i chickened out but all the other girls went. A hearty meal first before the big drop, Rachel and Carrots prepare breakfast:

Carrots demonstrating her expertise in flipping pancakes. Look at the air and the concentration on her face.

After untying the blindfold, Jenn-fala is relieved to know that most of her girls are taking the plunge with her.

A trial run on the mini-zip learning how to cruise the line and break at the end before the crew takes the girls up on a van to the top hill and up the ski jump for their 2 line plunge.

Mission accomplished! Clara and I weren’t allowed to go up the ski jump with them but we did watch from way at the bottom of the hill by the chairlifts. Boy were we able to hear them scream. GOOD JOB GIRLS!

Apres zip exiliration! It was definately a fun and exciting bachlorette! Clara and I got a lot of, “You should have done it with us!” I know, i know…i’m such a wuss. Eeek!!!

Carrots thinks because she’s expert at flipping pancakes that she can expertly flip off of the olympic podium. She actually landed squarely on her butt. Poor girl!
We had a lot of fun this weekend, it was a well thought out and executed bachelorette by the BMs and a fun time with the bride-to-be. She was a very good sport. Somehow even though it was her night of dares she was able to get Clara to give her number to a stranger. Jenn – you’re awesome!

Jenn-Fala’s Shower
June 17, 2008
The bridesmaids put on a spread that was 2nd to Martha Stewart. They were hoping that the weather would hold out for their garden bridal shower. It was cloudy and looked like it would rain, but we assured them, THAT’s ok! Rain on your wedding day/shower day is good luck!

Jenn’s theme colors of pink. Very pretty. Gerbera daisies were the notes of thanks from the BMs.

These pictures are going on the domesticated Carrot’s portfolio. She dipped the strawberries herself. Impressive!

The tomato rolled off the plate and onto the floor. But Carrot deemed it still edible. I wonder who ate it…

The BM’s all on their bestest behavior. It took a lot of restraint.

A gift from Meth. TOILET PLUNGER. Jenn-fala explains herself and goes into story time…

MoH’s gift to the bride. Do you notice the “His” embroidered in pink?

Miss. PR with the ever adorable RoRo.

RoRo totally hamming it up with grandma. That day he also learned how open and close his palm as a greeting!

It was a beautiful shower with super tame gifts on request of the bride to be. (Her mom was there!) Lots of cookbooks were given, Jenn-fala should be on the road to culinary excellence in no time! The moms gave words of wisdom touched with nostalgia and lots of love. It warmed the heart to see both sides so excited for J&B to become part of their families. Thanks to the BM’s for putting on a good show! You girls are a force to be reckoned with – Jenn’s one blessed chick to have you as her b-fries. =)

Stephen & Elaine
June 9, 2008
Elaine took the mic at her reception and looked over at Steve. “I wrote a song for Steve…Normally it’s the guy who will surprise the girl by writing her a song and not the other way round, but i’m doing it anyway!” And with that she sang out her heart felt lyrics to her new husband – about their ups and their downs and through it all that they were meant for each other.
Steve and Elaine are male/female versions of each other. They laugh and find amusement at everything, she’s the type who can stuff half a hamburger in her mouth guys will think it’s cute and he’s the personification of magnetic personality – everybody loves him. So it was no surprise when we learned a few years ago that Steve & Elaine were indeed dating and even a larger thrill when they announced their enagement!

E & S had asked Rockstar, Jennafala and B to lead worship for their wedding which i thought it was an honor at the Queen of Rock’s request so we were up in Edmonton Friday night for the rehearsal.

Elaine and Steve’s flower girl. Resting up for the big day! She was wide awake during the ceremony tightly gripping a single rose in her father’s arms as they walked down the aisle.

Roasted pig! It was such a delicious dinner! I helped roll out the aisle running later on so i didn’t feel so bad for crashing – hee hee….

Stephen mumbled something to me and laughed. That’s your typical Steve conversation.

Finally the big day! Elaine rocked her dress! Can you see her netted veil? Very chic/rocker/Madonna-esque! We had a poor vantage point to paparazzi but check out their official photog’s site – Kaio Photography and for a glimpse of their reception and engagement shots, check out the Hua sister’s photog company – huaphotography.
Congrats E&S!

Chicks and Meat
June 5, 2008
Clara and I usually hang out with friends younger than us and it’s fun young and fresh – they like to tell us 30 is the new 20 and really after you hit 25 you end up muddling everyone’s ages anyway. Last weekend we had the pleasure of hanging out with girls OUR age which is a bit of a rarity so it awesome that we were finally able to sync our schedules. Conversation is always fun with a sense of ‘maturity’, if you will. They are leaps and bounds more mature than Clara and me. They keep us grounded and aren’t afraid to tell you as it is, they can really shape our character!
It was a cool and classy night with fine linen, martinis, silverware and to make it an extra fabulous girls night – BBQ MEAT.

Clara and I are so unhealthy – everyone else ate chicken breast but we’re total steak lovers.

Jackie-O dishing out glassware for Andi and Meth’s favorite soho drinks.

Jackie-O’s totally cool crystal arrangement over her dining room table. I miss chandeliers!

Thanks Meth and Andi for grilling for us and Jackie-O, for your hospitality and your domestic goddess skills. I still can’t believe you were able to just ‘whip-up’ brownies like that. It was so yummy, mmmm…! Shall we do it again? Must bring you girls’ sexy back when the weather looks up!
