Softball Season
May 31, 2008
We don’t profess to be sport-active. I never lift my fingers except for typing, BUT! the rain had stopped, the sun’s been shining and Clara agreed to go out Tuesday night to play ball. I asked her how it went and she admitted to not wanting to go after work because she was so tired. But after a night of fun albeit being in her words, “a liability to the team” she didn’t regret being outside and among friends. She said it was gorgeous! I’ll take her word for it. I stayed inside and watched The Moment of Truth and met up with Carrots, Squish, Clara and Rockstar for wings at Brewsters Pub after the game. I’m not quite there for lifting my finger for sports, but i will for wings! YUM.

Deb & Jo
May 25, 2008
My b-fries from work! We don’t work together but we’re in the same branch and thank God i’ve managed to bump into them! It’s nice to have girlfriends to hang out (especially in our male dominating department!) have coffee and come back from lunch together mistaken for having too much to drink from laughing so loud and so much. Jo’s British accent is the coolest, and it still sounds sexy even when she’s making sport of me, and Deb, she’s my valley girl and closet nerd counterpart – we both love Star Wars. I think that’s awesome. Shhhh…. =)

Deb totally working it!

Jo and her backlit highlights from the warm spring afternoon sun.

There were a couple of guys on their bachelor party clad in florescent green speedos walking by. Here are Jo and Deb looking on!

I think Jo looks spectacular in her red glasses.

Do you dig the new yellow sweater? Very pretty and spring-ish.

Lookin’ just as fabulous de-spectaculed.

I love shots where people are naturally smiling or laughing!

Check out Deb’s eyes. You don’t get that from Asians!

In true Deb & Jo style! You girls are a gas!

Spring Picnic
May 22, 2008
If there’s a nice sunny day during May in Calgary you better take advantage of it, because in Cowtown, it wouldn’t be surprising if it dumped snow the next day! Last Saturday was HOT HOT HOT so we decided to have a picnic with Icks, Dezzy and Baby in McKenzie Towne’s water park.

We packed wraps, fresh fruit, veggies, dip and to off-set the healthiness – KFC. YUM!

There wasn’t much shade. It was really hot! Rockstar tried his hardest to shield Baby from the sun.

We ended up taking baby to the water park to cool off instead.

The water was quite refreshing…and a little chlorine-y!

Baby drying off in the sun with daddy. We didn’t stay at the park for too much longer and ended up making a McDonald’s ice-coffee run (surprisingly good!) Next time we shall remember to bring umbrellas! I shouldn’t complain though, it was a gorgeous day. I wore my winter boots this morning – so chilly! It’s suppose to rain the entire week, hope y’all stay dry and warm! I’ll be cozying it up with with caffeine and chick-mags!!

Mark & Candice’s Wedding II
May 19, 2008
Their theme was Spring Wedding, and Saturday turned out to be spring indeed! The sun was shining, birds were singing, and the chapel was beautifully decorated with mauves and sprinkled with dozens of glittery butterfiles ready for the nuptials of Mark and Candice!

I borrowed Rockstar for the pretty boutonniere shot. (BTW – He’s the best wedding singer ever in my humble opinion!)

Jenn and co. worked two nights and did a fantabulous job setting up the romantical spring atmosphere.

The ceremony begins! Mark’s first glance as Candice comes through the chapel doors. Check out that smile!

My favorite part of the wedding, the exchanging of vows – very well written on both parts. i love that it was extremely meaningful with such heart and genuineness.

Talk about a high fashion bride! Gorgeous gown with head to toe veil. Very “Candice”.

The evening reception took place at the Calgary Round-Up Centre Palomino Ballroom. I was seated next to the B&G’s professional photographer, Andras Schram. Talk about AMAZING WORK! I was too shy to talk to him!

Here’s the cutest boy on the dance floor!!

They are one inspiring couple truly smitten by each other and deeply in love. It was an amazing day and evening of celebration. Congratulations you guys!

Candice & Mark’s Wedding
May 19, 2008
Prompted by the movie 27 Dresses, when everyone else was transfixed at the door in anticipation of the bride, I looked over at Mark and as Candice entered the chapel the glow and happiness that radiated from the groom was just remarkable. Candice has got to be the most haute-couture bride i’ve ever laid eyes on, she was just jaw dropping stunning. It was the perfect day for a spring wedding. (More on their day to come!!) Congrats to the HAPPY HAPPY couple! Thanks for letting us share your special day with you!

Little Miss “L”
May 14, 2008
“Good morning!” i exclaimed when Clara and I arrived at Little Miss L’s place Saturday morning. She was lying on the floor flashing her gummy smile and opening and closing her palms, uttering “Bah-Bye.” “No bah-bye, we’re taking pictures!” I said, which she ignored and continued with yet another, “Bah-bye.”
We were suppose to get Little L into a sundress but the sky looked heavy so Mrs. L opted to put her in a cute heavy sweater jacket instead. I presented Little Miss L with a huge lollipop to which she clapped her hands in glee and immediately took to it – only to my dismay when we were at the playground shooting pictures did we realise that the lolli was way too heavy and she practically was dragging in the dirt.

I forgot how short one year olds are until i found out the next day i was sore from crouching low! She’s tiny and super cute! Little L worked it. She was a ball of energy, oblivious to the camera, was constantly laughing and surprisingly agile for someone knee high to a grasshopper. And the most charismatic one year old i’ve ever met. I think it totally runs in the L family.

Missy taking a little tumble, but still upbeat!

Mom had hoisted Missy on her shoulders so she could reach the monkey bars!

She’s short…but determined!

Mark and Candice Engagement Session
May 12, 2008
Even after dating for a few years it amazes me how these two are so courteous with each other like they’re still on their first date. Their friendship and companionship was something to admire, and a joy to capture. Look at the expression on their faces!

This was taken on the last day Calgary downtown’s Olympic Plaza had their ice rink open before they shut it down for the season. We weren’t intending on taking skating photos but Mark just so happened to have skates in their trunk. This totally loosened them up – not that they need to, both are naturally easy and silly in front of the camera and very easy on th eyes, non?

Candice and Mark skating by after making numerous runs around the rink.

Mark demonstrating chivalry by assisting Candice with her skates.

A much needed break after quite the vigorous skate.

For someone’s whose skates are barely broken into, Candice was a very good skater.

We made them spin more on the ground after making them spin many circles on the ice!

Some relaxed posing in front of some pretty sandstone landmarks along trendy Stephen Avenue Mall.

They’re so cute, they posed this one themselves!

These two have more legs than a bucket of chicken.

One of my favorite shots of the day. You can tell a lot by someone’s shoes – He’s cool, she’s classy. Thanks for allowing us to tag along your afternoon! You two rock, it was fun!
